Ardem Military Bases and Bunkers

Last verified 20 August 2026 against the official Steam store page and playardem.com.

Quick answer

Techtive Games confirms Minnowa contains military compounds, bunkers, abandoned malls, caves and hidden locations, and says the hidden ones hold narrative-driven environments with valuable loot. These are Ardem's endgame loot sites: the best weapons and components, paired with the densest infected presence and, on PvP servers, the most other players.

Military compounds and bunkers are the top of Ardem's risk-reward curve. Techtive Games has confirmed they exist and what kind of thing they hold, without publishing where they are — so this page covers what is known and how to survive one.

Why Ardem military bases matter

In Ardem, where the crafting economy runs on salvage, military sites are the exception that breaks the pattern. Ordinary buildings give you components; military sites give you finished equipment — the tier of firearms and attachments you cannot assemble from a farmhouse.

They are also dense sources of scrap metal and industrial components, which matters once you are running an electrical installation that eats metal faster than residential looting can supply.

Ardem’s hidden locations are the interesting part

Techtive Games' phrasing is worth quoting the substance of: Minnowa contains caves and hidden locations, with narrative-driven environments and valuable loot as the reward. That is a deliberate design commitment, and it changes what exploration is for.

Because the map is fully handcrafted with no procedural generation, these are hand-placed secrets rather than randomised containers. They reward paying attention to the world — a path that goes somewhere odd, a structure that does not fit its surroundings — which is a genuinely different skill from clearing buildings efficiently.

How to run an Ardem military base and come back

  1. Do not go early. These are not first-day content. Go once you have a working vehicle, a firearm, medical supplies and a base to return to.
  2. Park with an exit in mind. Not at the gate. Somewhere you can reach on foot under pressure and drive away from without turning around.
  3. Go in light. Carry capacity is the real constraint. Leave the salvage tools behind — this is a run for finished equipment, not raw material.
  4. Bring light for underground, and accept the cost. A light source in a bunker makes you visible as well as sighted.
  5. Carry medical supplies. The dangerous part of a military run is the journey home, not the building.
  6. Check the server type first. On a PvP server, military compounds are where other players concentrate too. That is a different threat model entirely.

Timing an Ardem military run

Techtive Games describes “the restless” as creatures that emerge at night, which makes daylight the obvious window for a high-density site. The counter-argument on PvP servers is that daylight is also when other players are watching the approaches. On PvE servers there is no counter-argument — go in daylight.

Ardem simulates dynamic weather on top of that, so fog cuts both ways: concealment for you, and reduced warning of what is ahead. See Ardem enemies.

Where are Ardem’s military bases?

Unknown, and this wiki is not going to invent coordinates. Techtive Games has not published a Minnowa map or named any military site. Verified locations are added to the location tracker from first-hand sightings during the public playtest on 15 October 2026.

What can be said with confidence from the confirmed taxonomy: military and industrial sites sit apart from residential areas, which in a hand-built American Midwest map means the edges of settlements, along major road routes, and in otherwise unremarkable rural terrain. That is a pattern, not a location. See best loot locations.

Key takeaways

  • Military compounds, bunkers, caves and hidden locations are confirmed in Minnowa.
  • Hidden locations reportedly hold narrative-driven environments and valuable loot.
  • Go only once you have a vehicle, a firearm, medical supplies and an exit plan.
  • Go in light — carry capacity, not danger, is what limits a high-value run.
  • No named sites or coordinates have been published by Techtive Games.

Frequently asked questions

Are there bunkers in Ardem?

Yes. Underground locations including bunkers and caves are confirmed parts of the Minnowa world.

What loot is in Ardem military bases?

Weapons, attachments and high-tier components. Exact spawn tables are not published.

Should I go to a military base early?

No. Go once you have a vehicle, a firearm, medical supplies and an exit plan.

Do you need a keycard for Ardem bunkers?

Not confirmed. Locked areas and access items are common in this genre, but Techtive Games has not described any keycard or access system for Minnowa's underground locations.

Are military bases worth it on a PvE server?

Yes, and they are considerably safer. On PvE the only threat is the infected, which makes high-tier loot a question of preparation rather than of who else is watching the compound.
