Is Ardem Coming to Xbox?
Last verified 20 August 2026 against the official Steam store page and playardem.com.
Ardem is not confirmed for Xbox. Techtive Games has announced Windows and SteamOS/Linux only, and states that a console release depends on the size and success of the player base. There is no Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One listing, and Ardem has not been announced for Xbox Game Pass.
Ardem has not been announced for Xbox in any form — not Series X, not Series S, not Xbox One, and not Game Pass. This page covers what is confirmed instead, and why the Xbox question sits in the same conditional bucket as PlayStation.

The official position
Techtive Games addresses consoles once, in the official Steam Community FAQ: PC is the focus first, and a console release depends on the success and size of the player base. There is no Xbox-specific statement at all, which means Xbox sits under that same general condition.
Note what this is not. It is not a cancellation, and it is not a “coming later” promise. It is a business decision the studio has deferred until after the PC launch — which itself has not happened. See Ardem release date.
On Game Pass specifically
Game Pass questions come up constantly for indie survival games, so to be precise about it: Ardem cannot be on Xbox Game Pass because there is no Xbox build. It has also not been announced for PC Game Pass, which would be technically possible for a Windows title — but Ardem is only distributed through Steam, with Steam Workshop, Steam Cloud, Steam Achievements and Family Sharing all listed among its features. That level of Steam integration points at a Steam-first release rather than a multi-storefront one.
Why Xbox is a hard fit today
Beyond the commercial condition, three of Ardem's confirmed design choices are genuinely difficult to bring across:
- Player-hosted dedicated servers, with server files promised after launch. Console platforms rarely allow community-run servers.
- CurseForge mod support plus Steam Workshop. Console modding requires a separate, restricted pipeline.
- Rapid Early Access patching over a target period of under two years. Every console patch adds a certification cycle.
None of these are permanent barriers — other survival games have crossed them — but each one is real work that only makes sense after the PC version proves itself.
Xbox One is effectively out
Ardem's minimum specification is an RTX 2060 or RX 5600 XT with 16 GB of RAM and DirectX 12. Xbox One has 8 GB of shared memory and a GPU well below that line. Even Series S, with 10 GB of shared memory, would be a meaningful engineering challenge for a 64 km² streaming world with 64-player servers. Full detail: Ardem system requirements.
And crossplay?
Not applicable yet. Crossplay requires two platforms, and Ardem currently has one ecosystem — Windows and SteamOS/Linux players already share servers because they are the same Steam release. See is Ardem crossplay.
What Xbox players can do today
If you have a PC that meets the minimum spec, the public playtest on 15 October 2026 is free and open to everyone with no invite or waitlist. That is the only way anyone plays Ardem right now, on any hardware. Steps: how to join the Ardem playtest.

Key takeaways
- Ardem is not confirmed for Xbox — not Series X|S, not Xbox One, not Game Pass.
- The studio's position is PC first, with console dependent on player base size and success.
- There is no PC Game Pass announcement either; Steam is the only storefront.
- Xbox One is effectively ruled out by the 16 GB RAM and RTX 2060 minimum.
- Crossplay does not apply yet, because there is no second platform.
Frequently asked questions
Will Ardem be on Xbox Game Pass?
No announcement has been made. Since there is no Xbox version at all, Game Pass is not currently possible.
Is Ardem coming to Xbox One?
Very unlikely. The minimum PC requirements are far above Xbox One hardware.
Can I play Ardem on Xbox with a PC player?
Not currently — there is no Xbox version, so there is nothing to cross-play with.
Is Ardem on PC Game Pass?
No. Ardem has not been announced for PC Game Pass or any subscription service. It is distributed through Steam only.
Would an Ardem Xbox version support mods?
Speculative, since no Xbox version exists — but Ardem's modding runs through CurseForge and Steam Workshop, and console platforms restrict both, so a console build would likely have reduced mod support.
